Jogjakarta

Pramabanan

Jogjakarta, the old cultural capital of Indonesia, is pretty mind-blowing. I was lucky enough to find a local guide who was a teacher-in-training (now graduated) and who gave up three days to cart my butt around on a motorbike! On the first clear morning, we were lucky to see Mt. Merapi smoking in the distance; Prambanan and Borubudor are temples with incredible stories and vistas; Parangritis Beach hosts a frothing, angry ocean for incredible sunsets.

I’ve connected with a teacher in Jogja (my guide’s mentor!) and we hope to do teacher training together this summer.

Here’s my blog about my trip to Jogja.

Also, yogyes.com was my go-to source for info when I was in JogJa.
